My website is (finally) live!

My website is (finally) live - and you’re on it right now!

There’s a saying about a cobbler and making shoes for himself.

I can’t remember exactly how it goes, but you know the point. People who do work for others often have a hard time getting around to doing it for themselves.

I’ve been blessed to help hundreds of experts launch their personal brands. But doing that same work for myself? It always got pushed to the bottom of the list.

Then came the time when I could finally work on it… and I didn’t. I kept finding excuses not to start.

Looking back, some of that hesitation came from doubt, questioning the value of what I was building and how it would be perceived.

Once I got past that, my Type A side took over and I went back and forth on whether to DIY it or outsource it.

I didn’t want to spend all that time building it myself only for it to look terrible. But I also didn’t want to spend a bunch of money when I was just getting started.

So, once again, analysis paralysis kicked in and nothing moved forward.

That changed when my guys group from church got involved. Leave it to the Holy Spirit to light a fire!

They gave me a deadline, and the only way to hit it was to build the site myself.

Now, don’t get me wrong, anyone who’s worked with me knows I’m more analytical than creative. But if you know me well, you also know there’s a creative side in there too. (Just ask about the endless sketches of dream floorplans and backyard living areas.)

So with a hard deadline and my creative juices flowing, I set out to write the copy and design the site myself.

Thank the Lord that website builders have come a long way since the last website I built. I used Squarespace, and it was surprisingly easy to use and turned out great. Especially considering who built it. :)

There are still tweaks to make, but v1 is live and I’m genuinely happy with it. And that says a lot coming from a perfectionist.
